This Privacy Policy explains how Bast Tarot ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App. Bast Tarot is a tarot companion for entertainment and self-reflection, intended for adult users (18+). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account information: The App creates an anonymous account automatically so your credits and readings work without signing in. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we collect your email address and basic profile name (Apple lets you hide your email using a private relay address). Accounts and sign-in are handled through our backend provider, Supabase.
Readings and journal data: The cards you draw, spreads you lay out, your optional questions, and AI reading results are stored with your account so your journal and history stay in sync. Personal journal notes are stored only on your device.
AI reading content: When you request an AI reading, your drawn cards and optional question are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the interpretation. AI readings are for reflection and entertainment only.
Purchase information: If you buy credits or subscribe to Premium, purchase status is processed through RevenueCat and Google Play billing or Apple App Store billing (depending on your platform). We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
Advertising data: The free version displays ads through Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers, advertising ID, approximate location, and usage signals to serve and measure ads.
Analytics and device information: We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. This may include device model, operating system, app version, language, and general usage events.
Push notifications: If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging stores a device token to deliver reminders and occasional announcements.

How We Use Information

To provide core functionality: daily draws, spreads, AI readings, journal, lessons, and progress.
To manage credit balances, purchases, and Premium access.
To display and measure advertising in the free version.
To analyze usage, improve content and features, and keep the App stable.
To send reminders and announcements you have opted into.
To respond to support requests.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

Supabase — accounts, readings, and data storage
Anthropic — AI-generated reading interpretations
RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management
Google AdMob — advertising
Google Firebase — analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, push notifications
Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — in-app purchases
Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — optional account sign-in

Advertising

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob, which may use your advertising identifier to provide personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your consent choices. In regions where consent is required, the App asks for it and lets you change your choice anytime in Settings → "Ad privacy options". Premium subscribers do not see ads.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the third-party providers listed above as necessary to operate the App, or where required by law.

Data Retention

We retain account and reading data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below).

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
